With these footrests, however, the feet extend downwards, leading to a relaxed and comfortable sitting position. Off-road riding while standing up is now significantly more comfortable, and you are guaranteed to be able to switch between sitting and standing without getting tired. Through this completely new design we have been able to lower the footrests to ergonomic advantage without the need to extend them outwards. Cornering clearance up to a high level is not affected. Made of strong aluminium, the footrest setcan withstand the most extreme load conditions. For optimum comfort you can still use the rubber inserts from the original footrests. BMW K 1300R Ergonomics – Brake Lever “Variolever” : A revolution in ergonomics, usability, safety and exclusivity: We have developed brake and clutch levers with adjustable lever length and reach that can be optimally adjusted to match your individual needs. Simply loosen the fixing screw and the lever length can be changed to suit your personal requirements. For the K 1300R model with the very effective brake it would be ideal to have better feel with less applied force, i.e. reduced lever length. TheVarioLever makes it possible to brake using only two or three fingers without pinching the other fingers. An enormous relief for street, touring or racing applications. This also applies to the clutch lever. Of course, when the lever is completely extended (roughly corresponding to the length of the original lever) it is possible to brake with all four fingers again. Another innovation is the easy adjustability of the lever reach, which can easily be applied whilst riding – important to compensate for brake fade (e.g. at high load, fast mountain bends). In addition, the reach can be changed to bring the lever closer to the handlebar, making it easier to reach. This is made possible by a large rotating adjuster that can easily be operated even when wearing thick gloves. The extraordinarily intricate construction is also extremely robust: Even when the lever is fully extended, forces of more than 60 kg/132 lb can be transmitted without difficulty at the outer tip. The modular construction opens up a whole range of colour combination options. We’ve selected what we consider the most attractive colour combinations. Wunderlich Brake Lever Enlargement – Silver : In its original form the footrest area is unfortunately rather small, which all too often presents a safety risk. If your boot is resting too far towards the edge of the footrest, you have to bend it awkwardly to reach the brake. With this lever enlarger installed, a wet boot slipping off the lever tip or treading on thin air belong in the past. The extension means that it is almost impossible for the foot to slip off or to miss the lever altogether. The GT is also enriched by the addition of another highlight. The enlargement is machined/turned to fit accurately on the original brake lever and is either bolted to the underside using a counter piece or fitted over the lever and secured using a fixing screw.
